Well, I fitted the sewn bodice lining on my daughter and it was perfect.....but oh dear! It was transparent...definitely not a good idea for a wedding dress!
So back to square one. I decided I'd try cutting the bodice from the skirt of the charity shop dress: there was plenty of material there. Then came the problem of cutting the bodice lace out of the lace of the same dress. No good! The scalloping just wasn't right. But there was enough lace in my 1986 veil...so now all bodice pieces cut out and ready to start sewing together.
