A few months ago my daughter asked me if I would make her wedding dress. We looked at all the beautiful materials and soon realised how expensive it was going to be. So what could we do to make it for less? I volunteered the material in my own wedding dress...it was used nearly thirty years ago and was just lying in the wardrobe. Then my daughter spotted a dress in a charity shop which had loads of lace, but a broken zip. A bargain at £20! So now all I have to do is turn two wedding dresses (plus some new material for the lining, bow and flounciing) into one! Several friends have asked me how I'm getting on with it, so I'm posting a few pictures here as I go along. You can keep up with with my progress here! Today I got as far as tacking the bodice lining together so that we can try it for size...if all ok I can get going for real!
